Robert Stewart was one of the foremost British designers of the second half of the 20th century. A former student of The Glasgow School of Art, he also held the position of head of textiles. Stewart produced innovative designs for textiles and ceramics for Liberty, Heals, Pringle and Donald Brothers in the 1950's. This book is a celebration of Bob Stewart - his life and achievements - as well as a fascinating snapshot of the British design world in the decades after World War II. An important work by Liz Arthur brings to public notice the master who, along with Lucienne Day, dazzled the design world in the 1950s and 1960s. A & C Black Publishers Ltd 2003.
