Square silk scarf featuring an original Charles Rennie Mackintosh textile pattern 'printed cotton'. Mackintosh created this pattern in 1918 for one of the most innovative furnishing textile manufacturers of it's time, William Foxton Ltd. Alongside using the bright tones popular in this era, Mackintosh experimented with abstract geometric shapes and flattened forms. This design is a classic example of Mackintosh's forward thinking design, exploring ideas that later became characteristic of the Art Deco movement.
